Terms of service
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Scope
These Terms govern the use of disavowfile.com, an online service operated by Fili Wiese, Friedrichstr 155, 10117 Berlin, Germany (“operator”). By using the service, the user agrees to these Terms.
About the service
disavowfile.com offers two free tools. The Disavow File Validator checks an uploaded disavow file against the format Google Search Console accepts and returns a corrected file. The Disavow File Generator turns a pasted list of URLs and domains into a disavow file. The result is sent as a private report link by email.
The service checks the format of the patterns in a file. It does not analyse backlinks, does not decide which links should be disavowed, and does not upload anything to Google Search Console.
Permitted use
The user may submit files and patterns they are entitled to use, for the purpose of checking or creating a disavow file. By submitting, the user confirms the use is lawful and does not overload or disrupt the service.
Prohibited use
The following uses are prohibited:
- submitting content unrelated to a disavow file, including malware, unlawful content, or personal data of third parties
- using automated tools to submit files at volume, or to evade the bot check or rate limits
- attempting to access internal endpoints, other users’ reports, logs, or administrative functions
- using the service to facilitate spam, abuse, or attacks on any system
The operator may block, throttle, or reject requests where misuse, excessive use, legal risk, security risk, or operational risk is suspected.
Reports and no guarantee
The service is provided free of charge, as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind. Reports and generated files may be incomplete or wrong, and Google may treat a file differently from how the service reads it. The user is responsible for reviewing a file before uploading it to Google Search Console. A disavow file affects how Google treats links to a site, and an incorrect file may harm the site’s visibility in search.
A report and its file are available through the private report link for 7 days. After that period the link no longer works and the check can be run again.
Disclaimer
The Disavow File Validator and Generator are a personal project of SEO consultant and ex-Google engineer Fili. Development is ongoing. Bugs can happen, no guarantees are given, and data may be incomplete or wrong. Use of the tools is at the user’s own risk.
Availability and changes
The service is provided on a best-effort basis. The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific processing times, or continued free access. Features and limits may be changed, restricted, or discontinued for legal, technical, security, abuse-prevention, or operational reasons.
Assignment and transfer
The operator may transfer or assign the service, this agreement, and the rights and obligations under it to a successor, for example as part of a sale, merger, or reorganisation of the business. These Terms continue to apply to a successor. Any material change to the Terms following such a transfer will be published on this page.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be limited under applicable law. The operator is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health. In cases of slight negligence, the operator is liable only for breach of an essential obligation, limited to foreseeable damage typical for a free online service. Any liability under mandatory statutory law remains unaffected.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If the user is a merchant, a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Berlin, Germany. Mandatory consumer protection provisions remain unaffected.
Changes to these Terms
The operator may update these Terms where required for legal, technical, security, abuse-prevention, or operational reasons. The current version is published on this page with its last-updated date. Changes do not apply retroactively to completed uses of the service.
